The Ministry of Economy, Trade and Energy, after the false claims that have circulated recently in the Albanian media, would like to inform the public opinion as follows:
“Porto Romano” is a project which has been planned since 2000, first as an area for the marketing and storage of fuels, an idea which was later on broadened until the proposal for the construction of an Energy Park. The Ministry of Economy, Trade and Energy has organized the International Conference “Albania: A Development production location”. The Conference was organized with the support from the German Agency for Technical Cooperation - GTZ and ALBINVEST.

3 prestigious companies express their interest for the construction of Ashta HPP |

Today, at the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Energy, the opening of bids for the construction of Ashta Hydro Power Plant took place. In the tender, a bid from a consortium of two companies (CNR and Electrabel) was presented, as well as the other bid from Verbund.
The Albanian Government has prepared and released on January 14, 2008 the concession project for the construction of Ashta HPP, as a solicited proposal, with the IFC consultancy.
